As you embark on your yoga journey, keep in mind that this yoga is designed for anyone and everyone – no prior yoga or even exercise experience is required! Here are a few things to keep in mind for your first class:
-
Arrive 15 minutes prior to class to have ample time to register, ask questions, and set up.
Students under 18 must have a parent/guardian present to sign registration form.
-
Don’t worry if you can’t “get” everything the first day. Just follow along as best you can. The instructors are here to help and encourage you.
-
Remember that all you need to do is try the right way and you will get 100% of the benefits of the postures.
-
We do the same postures in the same order with the same instruction every time, so the more you come to class the more you get used to the yoga.
-
Rest when you need to. Sit down when you need to. Take care of yourself.
-
Be prepared to SWEAT! The room is hot by intention.
-
Wear comfortable clothing.
-
Come to class hydrated.
-
Don’t eat anything about 2 hours before class (this varies from person to person, once you begin your practice you will find out what works best for YOU.)
-
Remember that everyone experiences a first class once. No one is there to judge you, only to encourage and support you!
-
Bring a mat, towel, and water. We provide these items for sale or rent if you do not have them.
-
The Bikram Yoga Series is a therapeutic yoga meant to heal the body - mental, emotional and physical - by working through postures. The key to experiencing a successful class is to enjoy being here! Our friendly and dedicated staff is here to ensure you have the tools you need. And remember, our studio is open one-half hour before and after each class for students to purchase classes, speak with the instructors, shop, or just hang out. See our class schedule and pricing.
